IBFed identifies concerns with overly prescriptive proposals for internal audit - 13/03/12
IBFed has responded to a Basel Committee paper on the role of internal audit. Whilst recognising that internal audit can be a key tool for monitoring the adequacy and effectiveness of risk management controls and systems, IBFed believes the Basel paper is overly prescriptive in the expectations it sets. Accordingly, the IBFed response calls for a more principles-based and flexible approach.

IBFed Responds to Basel Principles on Corporate Governance – 15/06/10
IBFed has responded to the Basel Committee’s proposed principles for corporate governance. In doing so, IBFed called for the guidelines to be principle-based, balanced and sufficiently flexible to allow them to be applied in different national financial structures and business models.
